I recently threw a Bridal Shower for my cute new Sister-in-Law and knew I wanted something bright and something that reminded me of summer. Orange always reminds me of summer, like orange creamsicles, so I created a palette of orange, white and bright greens. To ground the colors I used a lot of dark wood tones and natural colored twine.

‘Murica Trash Bash
Every year we throw a 4th of July party. It’s usually just a low key BBQ but this year I wanted to do something different. Something funny. And so the ‘Murica Trash Bash was born! We wanted to have it be themed after all those die hard Americans that just LOVE their country and all the other things we Americans seem to adore! It was so very tongue in cheek so it was hilarious!
Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower
I threw a Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower recently and I am in LOVE with these colors! They were such a fun palette to work with and were so bright that even the rainy day couldn’t put a damper on the day! I stuck with a main palette of red, turquoise, lime green and yellow but here and there threw some splashes of pink and purple in there. Doing that helped my floral and polka dot prints work with each other rather than clashing.
I went with a breakfast theme because I think breakfast is appropriate for any time of day or occasion! We had Belgian Waffle sticks along with shot glasses of maple syrup, an assortment of mini muffins, breakfast pizza (click here for the recipe) and a build your own parfait station.
Dog Birthday Party
This is Ajax and he turned 10 years old!! Scott gave him to me as a Christmas the first year we were married and he’s been my best little pal ever since. Hand in the air I’m one of *those* dog owners, he’s always been like a baby to me so it’s been rough for both of us while I’ve been finding my footing as a new mother. He’s had less attention than normal this past year so I wanted to give him a special day that was devoted just to him. We invited over my nieces and his dog friend Oliver and he was in doggy heaven!
