Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower

I threw a Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower recently and I am in LOVE with these colors! They were such a fun palette to work with and were so bright that even the rainy day couldn’t put a damper on the day! I stuck with a main palette of red, turquoise, lime green and yellow but here and there threw some splashes of pink and purple in there. Doing that helped my floral and polka dot prints work with each other rather than clashing.

I went with a breakfast theme because I think breakfast is appropriate for any time of day or occasion!  We had Belgian Waffle sticks along with shot glasses of maple syrup, an assortment of mini muffins, breakfast pizza (click here for the recipe) and a build your own parfait station.

Valentine Topiary

After a month of begging my computer not to give up the ghost I accepted my fate and got a new computer so I can start posting again! And what a busy year of events it’s shaping up to being. I’ve got the regular holidays and Brielle’s birthday but this year I’m throwing 2 bridal showers for some very special women! I’ll be drowning in love and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Speaking of love, I have a quick tutorial for a Valentine’s Day craft! It’s so simple and can be done pretty cheap, especially compared to what I’d buy one for. You’ll need a wooden dowel, a flower pot, floral foam, wood stain, moss, a Styrofoam ball (I used the bigger size so it’d balance the flower pot), and some silk roses or your preferred flower. IMG_4790

Christmas Home Tour

I love when people do decor tour of their homes, especially during Christmas. It’s so cool seeing how different they all are and I’m always getting ideas for my own home. I thought it’d be fun to do one of my own home! These are the centerpieces for our dining table. Candlelight in the colder months makes everything more cozy. This is also our first living wreath. Besides having to spray it every day it’s kinda making me want to venture into a real tree! The smell is amazing! If you have a real tree…do the needles get everywhere in your carpet?

Thanksgiving Centerpieces

I have two centerpiece ideas today. One is pretty quick and easy and the other is still easy but a bit more time intense. We’re having Thanksgiving dinner start at 5 tomorrow so I could fill the table with pretty candles. That means we need to have appetizers to keep the hanger at bay. We’re doing a relish tray and an antipasti tray. I wanted to antipasti platter to have a big more impact so I made a cornucopia to have it all spilling out of. You’ll need a large cup or water bottle, tin foil and dough. I used pizza crust but I’ve read that any dough besides the biscuit dough will work great.
