Thanksgiving Centerpieces

I have two centerpiece ideas today. One is pretty quick and easy and the other is still easy but a bit more time intense. We’re having Thanksgiving dinner start at 5 tomorrow so I could fill the table with pretty candles. That means we need to have appetizers to keep the hanger at bay. We’re doing a relish tray and an antipasti tray. I wanted to antipasti platter to have a big more impact so I made a cornucopia to have it all spilling out of. You’ll need a large cup or water bottle, tin foil and dough. I used pizza crust but I’ve read that any dough besides the biscuit dough will work great.

Vow-lloween Party: Outdoor Decor

This was the decor for the ceremony. We made 90% of the decorations outside and indoors. We made 4 8ft tall trees and 4 5ft trees. We bought cement tubing from a local construction company, carved the faces and tops and spray painted the insides black. Then we wrapped them in heavy brown butcher paper. Then we attached them to circular bases to keep them stable and attached the branch arms. Then we decorated them with cobwebs and ravens.

Teaching a Toddler: A

I have a 15 month old and our day to day schedule has gotten stale to say the least! While browsing Pinterest (the saving grace of how many moms?!) I found a lot of preschool ideas and decided we’d start doing our own Pre-Preschool! Every week we’ll learn about a theme, letter, color and 3 words. Every day we do an activity focusing on one of those. She’s a huge animal lover so I thought it was only fitting that our first theme was animals. For our animal activities we read her animal books, put together her animal puzzle, brushed our cat and watched her favorite Sesame Street episode, the pet episode!
