Oh man, I have a FOUR year old!! I can’t believe how quickly time has passed, I feel so torn. On one hand I miss her when she was little and want to keep her small forever but on the other hand, every day I’m amazed at the things she’s learning and I’m so excited to see her grow! Anyways…when I first asked her what she wanted for the theme she promptly replied, “Coraline” it’s one of her favorite movies so I shouldn’t have been surprised. I went back and forth on if I could use that theme and make it not so creepy until she came home and said she had asked one of her classmates if he wanted button eyes and he started to cry. That decided it and the Coraline theme was no more. Gnomes were MUCH happier and little kid friendly, haha. I didn’t want the traditional blue and red colors so when I found a section of brightly colored Gnomes at Hobby Lobby I snatched them all up and used their colors as my palette. Kim from BarefootStudiosOK created all my wonderful paper printables, including this darling invitation! She was so great to work with and took all my wants and made them into reality. Fiesta Father’s Day Dinner
We had our Father’s Day dinner a bit early this year with our parents. I wanted a fun colorful theme so I went with “Taco ’bout GREAT Dads!” Once I picked the theme it was easy sailing, even more so because it came so close to Cinco De May so I had lots of inspiration! Check out the details below
Mother’s Day Brunch
We had our moms and dads over for a small Mother’s Day Brunch today. I kept it really simple and kept most of it easy to assemble like veggies and ranch, fruit, and deviled eggs. The only thing that really took much work was the Caramel Pull Aparts, this recipe is pretty close to the one we make! They’re a family favorite. Drinks were milk and a non alcoholic Mimosa, get the recipe here
It was such a fun morning, it’s not often we have both sets of parents together and even more rare that it’s not with all our siblings so it was really nice just visiting! I hope all you ladies have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Teacher Appreciation Gift
I can’t believe it’s May already! I’ve been so focused on my upcoming Mother’s Day brunch (and a home reno that I’ll post after it’s done) that I almost forgot about Teacher Appreciation Day next week! I made up the tags, grabbed some of my favorite bath bombs and poof! A quick, cheap but still nice gift, something I appreciate especially since we have 7 teachers to give gifts to! These would also work as a great gift for Mother’s Day, along with a pack of Lush bathbombs! I’ve included both tags below…FREE to download.
