Dr Pepper Party

For years it was a running joke that my dad’s side of the family loved Dr Pepper so much they should have an IV of it put in their arm. I’m no different, it’s definitely my drink of choice so I thought it’d be a fun theme! Can I confess something? I feel like this is a safe space so here goes…I keep my Dr Pepper bottles in the car during the summer. Something about the sun heating the drink makes the carbonation burn SOOO good. Haha or as my 3 year old would say, “That’s some spicy pop!” Now that we’ve got the weirdness out of the way let’s move onto the party! I let the brand’s color guide me on my color palette with the iconic burgundy, black and white but I threw some bright red to brighten it up!

I had a ton of fun scouring the internet for Dr Pepper recipes and found an amazing one for Dr Pepper Caramel popcorn. In the end, I don’t think there was enough Dr Pepper to reduce to a syrup so the flavor was very slight. I’m not going to include that recipe since it didn’t really deliver the flavor I was hoping for. However, I’m going to make some adjustments to it and if I can get it just right I’ll include it later! Shelly collaborated with me again and created the most delicious Dr Pepper flavored desserts. More details below!

Pink & Ivory Pumpkin Party

I had the amazing opportunity to throw a party for Everyday Parties Magazine for their fall issue, coming soon so keep your eyes out! Every year I struggle with how to fill the space between the 4th of July and October 1. I want to put away the bright colors of summer but burnt oranges and reds just seem too strong for August and September. Since fall is my favorite season I want that fall feeling as long as possible so I thought bringing in some softer colors of blush pink, ivory and rose gold would help balance this warm weather while the various pumpkin accents, gold pieces, and dark wood tones to ground it all would say, “Ah…hello Autumn!”

Grandparent’s Day Party

It’s Grandparent’s Day on the 10th and we wanted to do something extra special this year to show Brielle’s Nana and Papa how much we love them! I went with the theme “We a-peach-iate you!” because we truly do. They’re always down to help out with watching Miss B while we go on a much needed date or just coming over to visit because they miss her…they’re phenomenal! Everything was variations of peaches to go with the theme! I kept all the food simple though, just easy desserts. Stick around if you wanna see the rest of this peachy party!

Sparkly Kitty Party

Back in June we were at my parent’s house, eating dinner on the patio, when this darling little cat wandered into their backyard and made a beeline for Brielle. It was love at first sight for them both, neither leaving the other’s side for the next 3 hours. Of course being the animal lover I am…Brielle and I joined forces, batted our lashes at her Daddy and just like that we got a new kitty! We told Brielle that she’d have to take care of her and feed her every day. Yeah…ask me how consistent she’s been with that chore…anyways, since she was her kitty we let her pick out the name. She promptly named her Lily Glitter Sparkles (every parent that has also watched Trolls on repeat will get it!) We picked up some essentials, including a bright pink collar with pink heart tag and took her home. She settled in right away with our dog, Ajax, and only a few spats with our other cat, Zoe. To celebrate her joining our family and Zoe’s birthday in July we had a Kitty party!

Brielle insisted on pink for her two girl kitties and I picked gold to go with the sparkles portion of the name. I also used black and white to ground it all but also because both Zoe and Lily are mainly those colors.
