Easy Lemon Cake

My husband and I are usually at odds when it comes to dessert. I always want chocolate, inserted into my vein if I could, and he hates the taste of it. While he prefers custards and pies I have a terrible time with that kind of texture. We firmly agree on this Lemon Cake though! It’s so moist and not too sweet or tart. It’s perfect and having it be the easiest recipe in the world is an added bonus. This is what I’ll be making to finish off my Easter Dinner I’m hosting.

Easter Egg Techniques

It’s been ages since I’ve dyed Easter Eggs and I might as well be honest. I have NO artistic talent. My 2.5 yr old can probably draw a better stick figure than I can so I’m not one of those people that can draw these beautiful designs on Easter Eggs. So, since I didn’t want people cooing over Brielle’s fine art work only to be embarrassed later when they find out those scribbles were done by me I cheated my way to pretty eggs. 😉 First up I grabbed a small bag and filled it halfway with rice. Dropped some blue food coloring in the bag and placed the egg in with it. Then you just shake it all and out comes the prettiest speckled egg!

Dr Seuss’s Horton Party

A tiny bit late getting this up but Dr Seuss’s birthday is one of my favorite days! I love all his books so much. As a baby shower gift my mom got me almost the entire collect as board books so they’ve been read often with my 2.5. I was trying to decide which book to base this year’s little birthday celebration when I saw the Horton Hears a Who movie on TV. My daughter LOVED it, we watched it twice…in a row…so I knew that our theme had been found.
