Unique Ballerina Party

I had the amazing opportunity to style a party for Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine earlier this year and I’m SO excited to be able to share it with you now! I decided to go with the theme “Dancing in the Rain” because Brielle is obsessed with everything ballet right now and as a preschooler we definitely experience many storms in this house lately! I was thinking about the quote “Life isn’t about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” a lot and it just seemed perfect!   I kept the color palette soft with baby blues, mint, pink and lots of white accents. Check out below if you want more details and make sure to click HERE to check out the rest of the magazine! It’s full of incredible Spring inspiration!

Oscar the Grouch Party

Everyone tells me it’s her age but seriously, I was not prepared for how much harder 3 is than the “Terrible Twos”! Everything is “I’ll do it myself!”  and then this darling child cycles through the 5 stages of grief every time she’s told no and it.is.intense! She’s also recently decided that she wants to have an adult bedtime. So we have at least an hour every single night returning her to her bed every few minutes and telling her to stay in bed. Finally she crashes from sheer exhaustion but by then it’s to late and she’s already RSVP’d that Brielle the Grouch will be coming for a visit the next day. Since Brielle the Grouch has pretty much taken up permanent residence what better inspiration?!? So since Misery loves company….won’t you join us for a terrible time?!?

Easter Peeps Playdate

Brielle has been asking for a playdate with her BFFs for ages and what better theme than an Easter Peeps Playdate?!? Bright colors, glittery sugar and lots of sweets, perfect for a bunch of 3-4 year olds! Sadly, the day before 3 out of 5 of them had fevers and coughs so we had to have a raincheck but hey, it’ll give me a chance to have another fun party! Check out below if you want the details of how I styled this almost Peeps Playdate! 😉

Easy Valentine Day Dessert Table

We’re really not Valentine Day celebrators in our house, horrible huh?! We usually celebrate a few days before or after so we beat the crazy crowds and the hiked up prices but this year I wanted to do something that included Brielle. I had grand visions of a darling Valentine’s Day tea party with tiny sandwiches and garnishes cut out into mini hearts but somehow life got the better of me and suddenly I realized that Valentine’s Day was in THREE days! So the magnificent tea party was scrapped and we all enjoyed a mini Valentine celebration while we watched the Valentine episode of Vamperina. Haha, you know you’re a parent when you’re combining Valentine’s Day with Disney Junior. I kept it super simple with red velvet cupcakes, sparkling cider and strawberries, ya know for a bit of healthy eating. You can’t have Valentine’s Day without roses so I incorporated them into my strawberry tower, put the rest into a vase, and grabbed some of my regular decorations to mix in. I couldn’t let go of the mini heart garnish though so I stuck them on the rims of the glasses instead….woot, compromise!

I have a funny story of those roses though. Brielle grabbed a few, plucked off all the petals and the next thing I know she’s carted them off into her bath. It was so funny seeing this bizarre combination of rose petals floating on the water along with her Fisher Price princesses and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse figurines. Haha, I seriously love the preschool stage! However, I do NOT love that now we have 23 Valentine gifts to create and give out! Well, I better go finish said gifts! 😉
