We’re really not Valentine Day celebrators in our house, horrible huh?! We usually celebrate a few days before or after so we beat the crazy crowds and the hiked up prices but this year I wanted to do something that included Brielle. I had grand visions of a darling Valentine’s Day tea party with tiny sandwiches and garnishes cut out into mini hearts but somehow life got the better of me and suddenly I realized that Valentine’s Day was in THREE days! So the magnificent tea party was scrapped and we all enjoyed a mini Valentine celebration while we watched the Valentine episode of Vamperina. Haha, you know you’re a parent when you’re combining Valentine’s Day with Disney Junior. I kept it super simple with red velvet cupcakes, sparkling cider and strawberries, ya know for a bit of healthy eating. You can’t have Valentine’s Day without roses so I incorporated them into my strawberry tower, put the rest into a vase, and grabbed some of my regular decorations to mix in. I couldn’t let go of the mini heart garnish though so I stuck them on the rims of the glasses instead….woot, compromise!
I have a funny story of those roses though. Brielle grabbed a few, plucked off all the petals and the next thing I know she’s carted them off into her bath. It was so funny seeing this bizarre combination of rose petals floating on the water along with her Fisher Price princesses and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse figurines. Haha, I seriously love the preschool stage! However, I do NOT love that now we have 23 Valentine gifts to create and give out! Well, I better go finish said gifts! š
