Every year we throw a 4th of July party. It’s usually just a low key BBQ but this year I wanted to do something different. Something funny. And so the ‘Murica Trash Bash was born! We wanted to have it be themed after all those die hard Americans that just LOVE their country and all the other things we Americans seem to adore! It was so very tongue in cheek so it was hilarious!
I threw a Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower recently and I am in LOVE with these colors! They were such a fun palette to work with and were so bright that even the rainy day couldn’t put a damper on the day! I stuck with a main palette of red, turquoise, lime green and yellow but here and there threw some splashes of pink and purple in there. Doing that helped my floral and polka dot prints work with each other rather than clashing.
I went with a breakfast theme because I think breakfast is appropriate for any time of day or occasion! We had Belgian Waffle sticks along with shot glasses of maple syrup, an assortment of mini muffins, breakfast pizza (click here for the recipe) and a build your own parfait station.
This breakfast pizza has been a favorite in my family for years! I don’t remember it not having a place at my parent’s annual Christmas brunch.
I found a really yummy sounding drink (mimosas) online that I thought would be perfect for the Vintage Kitchen Bridal Shower (click here for a recap of it) but it was alcoholic. Since we don’t drink I messed around with it, looked online for some substitutes and came up with a virgin version. It was really good, the white grape juice toned down the bite of orange juice that I normally dislike and the 7 up gave the fizzy feeling of champagne.
