I had the amazing opportunity to style a party for Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine earlier this year and I’m SO excited to be able to share it with you now! I decided to go with the theme “Dancing in the Rain” because Brielle is obsessed with everything ballet right now and as a preschooler we definitely experience many storms in this house lately! I was thinking about the quote “Life isn’t about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” a lot and it just seemed perfect! I kept the color palette soft with baby blues, mint, pink and lots of white accents. Check out below if you want more details and make sure to click HERE to check out the rest of the magazine! I knew I wanted a ballerina for my backdrop so I found the stock ballerina image and had my local Staples print it on engineering paper (you can get huge prints for literally dollars!) and used that as my starting point
I knew I wanted to use flowers because that totally says Spring so I used two different kinds of baby’s breath to create the tutu for a fluffy 3D effect as well as placing those on the cake and in a vase to balance it all
To keep the ballerina theme throughout I displayed ballerina slippers, real ones and sugar cookie ones! For the treats I went with little girl friendly foods like sugar cookies, pastel macrons, and sweet pink lemonade.
I also used ballerina silhouettes on the glasses and on the cake as well.
Speaking of the cake, it was vanilla bean with cream cheese raspberry filling covered with a marshmallow fondant and dotted with fondant raindrops. Shelly did the inside and my darling sister in law Jenn decorated it
I wanted the raindrops to have a 3D effect as well, so I used medical tape to adhere the raindrops to the backdrop, and after about 20 minutes the medical tape puffed up and held each of the raindrops slightly off the backdrop and they looked like they really were falling

After we filled up on sugar I turned on the Leap soundtrack and was rewarded with my personal ballet performance by some pretty darling 3 and 4 year olds!
