Oh man, I have a FOUR year old!! I can’t believe how quickly time has passed, I feel so torn. On one hand I miss her when she was little and want to keep her small forever but on the other hand, every day I’m amazed at the things she’s learning and I’m so excited to see her grow! Anyways…when I first asked her what she wanted for the theme she promptly replied, “Coraline” it’s one of her favorite movies so I shouldn’t have been surprised. I went back and forth on if I could use that theme and make it not so creepy until she came home and said she had asked one of her classmates if he wanted button eyes and he started to cry. That decided it and the Coraline theme was no more. Gnomes were MUCH happier and little kid friendly, haha. I didn’t want the traditional blue and red colors so when I found a section of brightly colored Gnomes at Hobby Lobby I snatched them all up and used their colors as my palette. Kim from BarefootStudiosOK created all my wonderful paper printables, including this darling invitation! She was so great to work with and took all my wants and made them into reality. Check out the rest of the party below!
We had our Father’s Day dinner a bit early this year with our parents. I wanted a fun colorful theme so I went with “Taco ’bout GREAT Dads!” Once I picked the theme it was easy sailing, even more so because it came so close to Cinco De May so I had lots of inspiration! Check out the details below
I had the amazing opportunity to style a party for Twinkle Twinkle Little Party Magazine earlier this year and I’m SO excited to be able to share it with you now! I decided to go with the theme “Dancing in the Rain” because Brielle is obsessed with everything ballet right now and as a preschooler we definitely experience many storms in this house lately! I was thinking about the quote “Life isn’t about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” a lot and it just seemed perfect! I kept the color palette soft with baby blues, mint, pink and lots of white accents. Check out below if you want more details and make sure to click HERE to check out the rest of the magazine! It’s full of incredible Spring inspiration!
Everyone tells me it’s her age but seriously, I was not prepared for how much harder 3 is than the “Terrible Twos”! Everything is “I’ll do it myself!” and then this darling child cycles through the 5 stages of grief every time she’s told no and it.is.intense! She’s also recently decided that she wants to have an adult bedtime. So we have at least an hour every single night returning her to her bed every few minutes and telling her to stay in bed. Finally she crashes from sheer exhaustion but by then it’s to late and she’s already RSVP’d that Brielle the Grouch will be coming for a visit the next day. Since Brielle the Grouch has pretty much taken up permanent residence what better inspiration?!? So since Misery loves company….won’t you join us for a terrible time?!?
