Spooky Halloween Tablescape

My favorite time of the year has arrived! Oh Halloween, how I’ve missed you! I set up my Halloween tablescape and I’m SO feeling it this year! I wanted a cemetery feel so I incorporated lots of moss, dying flowers, mini tombstones, skulls and ravens! I thought a silver, purple and black palette would be perfect as well. If you want to see more on how I created this Halloween tablescape stick around!

I started with a plain white tablecloth and layered one of those black mesh fabrics that you can find at any Halloween store right now. Next I layered moss to give in that graveyard feel. I went with the natural gray toned since the only bright green that should be in Halloween is a Witch’s brew! I had this old floral arrangement that was just collecting dust…hey perfect! I gave it a quick dusting of black spray paint to mute the colors and give them a withering appearance. A few more spiderwebs, I prefer the brown kind because I think it looks the most realistic, and a raven on top gave me my centerpiece.

I got my trusty candelabras out. Seriously, they’ve been one of my very best Halloween decor investments! I use them all the time! I got them at the Spirit Halloween store about 7 years ago so I don’t think they sell them anymore, unfortunately. But the tarnished silver and skulls were just too perfect to not use. I also added some more ravens. I think I got the wooden ravens at Hobby Lobby

I finished the runner centerpiece by nestling in these mini ceramic pumpkins I found at in the Dollarspot at Target this year. The stems were originally gold but that didn’t fit with this palette so I painted them a metallic silver

Each place setting has a mini tombstone, also found at Target this year. They’ll do double duty as place cards at our Halloween dinner

I wanted to keep the silver running through the place setting so I used a silver charger which tied in perfectly with my silver rimmed dinner plate and fork. I separated  the charger and plate with a royal purple dinner napkin. I love the shock of deep purple this gave the table! The plate seemed pretty plain so I layered each one with a paper spider web. I got those at Michael’s

I’m always looking for cool new glasses to add to my collection and these black stemless wine glasses were an instant YES when I saw them! I got the from Oriental Trading

To finish dinner off these darling bat favor boxes will be filled with something yummy for our guests to take home! I’m thinking purple saltwater taffy. I don’t remember exactly where I got them since I had them laying around the house. I think they, also, were from Oriental Trading though

A look at the other headstone. I picked 3 of the 2 kinds so each couple will get to go home with two different headstones as further favors. They’re deceptively heavy so they’ll be fantastic decor pieces too! The mini skulls I got a few years ago from Michael’s

I’m SO in love with this year’s table and I actually had so much of it already that I barely spent anything. I want to say less than 20.00 and that includes giving away two favors each to my dinner guests! Now to outfit the rest of the house! Which is already proving difficult this year. Brielle has developed an intense fear of monsters and anything remotely creepy. *sob* I’ve pulled all my Halloween decor out so she and I can go through it this week. Hopefully, she’ll be able to pick a few things she likes, I’ll be so sad to pack away my ghosts and skeletons! Oh well….better that then therapy for when she’s older 😉
