Pink & Ivory Pumpkin Party

I had the amazing opportunity to throw a party for Everyday Parties Magazine for their fall issue, coming soon so keep your eyes out! Every year I struggle with how to fill the space between the 4th of July and October 1. I want to put away the bright colors of summer but burnt oranges and reds just seem too strong for August and September. Since fall is my favorite season I want that fall feeling as long as possible so I thought bringing in some softer colors of blush pink, ivory and rose gold would help balance this warm weather while the various pumpkin accents, gold pieces, and dark wood tones to ground it all would say, “Ah…hello Autumn!”

For desserts we had Mexican vanilla sugar cookies topped with royal icing and sugar accents and stacked doughnut holes! I kept the colors of the desserts to my blush pink, ivory and gold palette to help further create a cohesive feel!

The star of the show was a triple layer cinnamon spice cake with cream cheese filling and covered in traditional whipped vanilla buttercream frosting. It was decorated with handmade fondant pumpkins and adorned with sugar paste vines!

Isn’t this plate to die for? I bought every single one in Hobby Lobby! I’ve been on the look our for gold silverware for a few years but they’re so expensive. Thankfully, it never worked out because I found this gorgeous rose-gold silverware at Wal-Mart! It’ll be making an appearance at Thanksgiving dinner this year!

The wooden box is from the shower I threw for my SIL, check that out here. The mini pumpkins and cotton accents were from Hobby Lobby and the flowers were my SIL’s wedding. I’m a HUGE believer in reusing things if you can!

You can’t have a fall party without hot chocolate! For this one we had Mexican hot chocolate because I knew it would pair nicely with the desserts

My crazy talented friend, Shelly, made all the deserts. I can’t tell you show quickly this cake was devoured by everyone! Go check her out, her instagram handle is cakes_byshelly

As each guest left they took an individual paper pumpkin I made. Inside each pumpkin was a small bag of roasted pumpkin seeds. It was such a lovely night to bid goodbye to summer and welcome fall with sweater covered arms!
